"Total Trivia"

  •
    People say, "Bless You!" when you sneeze, because when you sneeze your heart stops for a millisecond.

  • 1.5 billion kilograms of chocolate are "consumed" worldwide each year.

  • It took engineers 22 years to complete the "zipper"!
    (It doesn't make you feel so
    bad taking a few years to finish
    a quilt, does it?
    )

  • Did you know... you cannot sneeze with you eyes open. And... if you sneeze too hard, you can fracture a rib but if you try to supress a sneeze you can rupture a blood vessel in your brain.

  • Did you know... the strongest muscle in the human body is the tongue. ( Is that why words can be so hurtful?)

  • Mistletoe - Ancient Celtic priests calls Druids around the New Year would collect mistletoe from their holy oak tree and offer some as a sacrifice to the gods. Some would be hung up during a ceremony which people would stand under it and kiss showing an end to their old grievances with each other. This later practice never actually died out.

  • Donald Duck comics were banned in Finland because he doesn't wear pants. (I don't believe I've ever seen a duck wear pants...have you? Is it just me or has this world become too poitically correct for it's own good.)

  • Leonardo da Vinci invented scissors. (And where would our craft be without them? I was already in awe of this amazing man, now I'm eternally grateful.)

  • The left lung is smaller than the right lung, to make room for the heart. (I wonder, did Mother Teresa even have a left lung!)

  • The average person laughs about fifteen times a day. (Imagine how much happier the world would be if we were all above average when it came to laughing!)
